Integrating Addiction Medicine with Treatment Courts
This FREE 6-hour course will introduce you to the basics of addiction medicine and treatment courts. You will learn practical methods for addressing systemic challenges like reducing stigma, advocating for your patients, and creating an effective partnership between medical providers, treatment court specialists, and patients. National experts will also use case studies to teach best practices for diagnosis and treatment of patients involved in the criminal legal system. This is a great way to build a new skill set or improve upon what you already know about treatments courts.

After taking this course, learners will be able to:
- Describe ways to reduce stigma against people with substance use disorders, including the use of accurate terminology.
- Explain the role of timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment for clients/participants first engaging in treatment courts.
