CCBHC ECHO Session: Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorder

Host: National Council / American Society of Addiction Medicine
Recorded: Tuesday, June 25, 2024
Online Webinar

Overview

Alcohol is now the fourth leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The total number of alcohol-related deaths increased 25% between 2019 and 2020; and 10% between 2020 and 2021. We need to broaden the conversation to address the high morbidity and mortality associated with AUD.

Based on emerging data and transitions in the conceptualization of alcohol use disorders, it is important to screen all patients for the presence of AUD and implement effective strategies to reach a wider segment of the population. This ECHO series training is designed to provide evidence-based screening methods and treatment options for alcohol use and co-occurring disorders. Recommendations regarding pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions will include an array of methods to address complex and comprehensive needs in integrated care, outpatient, and inpatient settings.

CCBHC-E NTTAC has partnered with ASAM to provide a 6-session CCBHC ECHO on substance use. This 1.5-hour ECHO series recording offers a comprehensive, in-depth analysis of actual patient cases submitted by attendees. Participants can look forward to receiving guidance and feedback from a diverse panel of expert faculty. This program is tailored for professionals new to the field of addiction treatment, providing them with the means to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence. This introductory program is specifically designed for CCBHC grant recipients, including social workers, therapists, and additional clinical team members involved in patient care. Register for each session today!

Each ECHO session includes:

  • A 30-minute presentation focused on a selected topic related to addiction.
  • Two 20-minute interactive case discussions led by a team of interdisciplinary addiction experts.
  • The opportunity to earn up to 1.5 continuing education (CE) credits for each session.

This introductory program is specifically designed for CCBHC grant recipients, including social workers, therapists, and additional clinical team members involved in patient care.
