ASAM 2023 Level of Care Certification Updated Rating Elements Course
On-Demand Course
Overview
This 1-hour, self-paced, on-demand module introduces the new and updated rating elements that are expected to be met, in addition to the existing rating elements (as outlined in the LOCC Manual), for the ASAM Level of Care Certification (TM).
The changes made are in alignment with the guiding principles of The ASAM Criteria and support the expansion of patient-centered care, the individuation of treatment planning, and access to medications for addiction treatment. This module is designed to supply providers of residential substance use disorder services with a comprehensive understanding of the updates made to the existing ASAM Level of Care rating elements. In this module, you will focus on the changes made to the rating elements within staff standards, support system standards, assessment and treatment planning standards, and therapy standards across 3.1, 3.5, and 3.7 levels of care.
You will explore the changes, rationales, implementation, and documentation associated with the updated elements that reflect advances in practice and foster more comprehensive and effective adoption of existing ASAM Criteria rating elements across 3.1, 3.5, and 3.7 levels of care. By the end of this module, you will be able to implement the discussed elements into your program's procedures in order to help you prepare for the level of care certification survey. This activity does not offer CME or CEU credits. It addresses the following ACGME Competencies: Patient Care, Practice-Based Learning, System-based Practice
