About these Courses

These self-paced courses enhance your understanding of the standards and the rating elements of the ASAM Level of Care Certification in Levels 3.1, 3.5, and 3.7, and explain how these could be implemented into your program’s policies and procedures. The ASAM Level of Care Certification Program, delivered in partnership with CARF International (CARF), is the first program of its kind to independently assess and verify treatment programs’ capacity to deliver services consistent with the level of care standards described in The ASAM Criteria®. This program includes five online modules that can be taken individually or together. Each course module uses a mix of didactic materials, learning activities, and assessments to ensure engagement and comprehension.

Pricing

The Introduction to ASAM Level of Care Certification and ASAM 2023 Level of Care Certification Updated Rating Elements Course are available for free.

The Level of Care Modules for Level 3.1, 3.5, and 3.7 is available individually for $149 each ($125 for ASAM members) or at a discount if more than one is being purchased. Each Level of Care module includes the Introduction to The ASAM Criteria. A bundle of two Level of Care modules is available for $249 ($200 for ASAM members) and a bundle of all three is available for $349 ($275 for ASAM members).

  • This module begins with a brief description of The ASAM Criteria and describes the vision for certification in re-engineering addiction treatment. Viewers will learn about the difference between certification and accreditation, how ASAM and CARF are working together to deliver this certification, the components of care that certification addresses, and the benefits to providers and patients. Finally, viewers will learn about the certification process, from application to survey, and the resources available to treatment programs along the way.
