Overview
The ECHO series offers a comprehensive, in-depth analysis of actual patient cases submitted by attendees. Participants can look forward to receiving guidance and feedback from a diverse panel of expert faculty. This program is tailored for professionals new to the field of addiction treatment, providing them with the means to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence.
CCBHC-E NTTAC has partnered with ASAM to provide a 6-session CCBHC ECHO on substance use. This 1.5-hour, virtual ECHO series offers a comprehensive, in-depth analysis of actual patient cases submitted by attendees. Participants can look forward to receiving guidance and feedback from a diverse panel of expert faculty. This program is tailored for professionals new to the field of addiction treatment, providing them with the means to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence. This introductory program is specifically designed for CCBHC grant recipients, including social workers, therapists, and additional clinical team members involved in patient care. Each ECHO session includes:
- A 30-minute presentation focused on a selected topic related to addiction.
- Two 20-minute interactive case discussions led by a team of interdisciplinary addiction experts.
- The opportunity to earn up to 1.5 continuing education (CE) credits for each session
This introductory program is specifically designed for CCBHC grant recipients, including social workers, therapists, and additional clinical team members involved in patient care.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, learners will be able to:
- Develop a basic understanding of the CCBHC model and funding mechanisms to support the implementation
- Increase knowledge and understanding of the substance use service and implementation requirements within the CCBHC criteria
- Identify considerations and strategies for substance use as it pertains to their CCBHC implementation

Refunds & Cancellations
All ASAM e-Learning Center refund requests must be made in writing to Education@ASAM.org within 90 days of purchase. Those requesting refunds for courses that are in progress will receive partial refunds or e-Learning Center credit. Automatic full refunds will be made for any course with a live-course component that has been cancelled.

Angela L. Colistra
PhD, LPC, CAADC, CCS
Dr. Angela Colistra has been working with individuals managing co-occurring disorders, lending her expertise to therapy, medical training, clinical supervision, education, and research. She is the director of Behavioral Sciences and Associate Medical Director of Community and Practice-Based research for the Department of Family Medicine. She is a faculty with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). A member of the Pennsylvania Advisory Council for Substance Use, offering guidance to the Governor of Pennsylvania and the Secretary of Drug and Alcohol Programs. Angie is the owner of Aligned Consulting and Coaching LLC where she provides addiction and BH consulting and coaching. Dr. Colistra is working on her first textbook: Equipping the Interdisciplinary Workforce to Treat Addiction and Behavioral Health: Reducing the Stigma with Springer due out in November of 2024. As a mother of two boys, she is dedicated to advancing addiction and behavioral health prevention and education; hailing from West Virginia this work is a personal and professional calling.

Trina Fullard
MA, CCS, LCAS
Trina Fullard serves as the Chief Program Officer at Charlotte Rescue Mission, overseeing clinical programming for various programs. She is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor in North Carolina. With extensive experience in adolescent care and substance use disorder treatment, she has worked at the Marriott Foundation, Greenbriar Treatment Center, and McLeod Addictive Disease Center. Trina graduated from Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Maryland, College Park. She actively participates in community engagement through numerous councils and committees, including the ASAM Fundamentals of Addiction Medicine Planning Committee.

Jane King
PsyD, LP
National Council for Mental Wellbeing
Jane King is a Clinical Psychologist with close to 30 years of experience developing and directing programs and teams in integrated mental health and substance use treatment as well as homeless and housing arenas. As a Senior Consultant for the National Council, she specializes in Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) implementation for both clinics and states. Prior to coming to the National Council, Dr. King worked for the State of Minnesota – Department of Human Services on the CCBHC implementation team. She has also done clinical work and supervision in varied settings such as FQHCs, mental health clinics, substance use treatment programs, homeless shelters and housing programs. Dr. King received her Doctor of Psychology from JFK University and her bachelor’s in Psychology from Occidental College, both in California. She currently resides in Minneapolis.

Jennifer Leggett
LPC, LADC, CPRSS
Jennifer has worked as an LPC and LADC for GRAND Mental Health and ARC for 13 years. She is a licensing supervisor for both LPC and LADC. Early in her career she carried a caseload of adults and children in behavioral health, substance abuse and cooccurring settings. Jennifer worked as a program administrator for GRAND in adult & children’s behavioral health, substance abuse and co-occurring services prior to, during transition of and after GRAND became a CCBHC. Jennifer was promoted to Clinical Compliance Director and now currently serves GRAND as the Addiction Recovery Center Director. Before working at GRAND, Jennifer worked at Resonance Center for Women in Tulsa, OK as an addictions counselor. Jennifer graduated from Oklahoma State University with her masters in Community Counseling and holds a bachelor’s in human development with a focus on Children & Family Services.

In support of improving patient care, the American Society of Addiction Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Physicians
The American Society of Addiction Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nurses
This activity awards 1.5 Nursing contact hours.
PAs
ASAM has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits.
Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, ASAM is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 general continuing education credits.

Maintenance of Certification (MOC) or Continuing Certification Programs (CCP)
This activity meets the requirements for MOC/CCP for the following primary physician boards and for state licensing CME requirements. MOC Credit is only reported for ABA, ABP, ABIM, and ABS.
