Overview
"Measurement-Based Care" (MBC) is the subject of many academic papers, but the details of how to implement MBC are seldom explained. As a result, few healthcare providers use MBC in their practices.
This webinar will de-mystify MBC for addiction treatment providers by describing the practical steps of choosing measures, tracking changes over time, and adjusting treatment plans based on these changes. It will also inform providers about using MBC with collaborative care models and obtaining reimbursement for MBC.
This webinar is part of a series for those participating in AMNet, an Addiction Medicine practice-based research network, and for addiction treatment providers who and are interested in improving the quality of patient care using patient-reported outcome measures. The target audience for this introductory level activity includes: Addiction medicine specialists who treat patients and are interested in improving the quality of patient care using patient-reported outcome measures.

Steven Daviss
MD, DFAPA
Steven Daviss, MD, DFAPA is a physician, double-boarded in Psychiatry and in Psychosomatic Medicine, which is the intersection of primary care and psychiatry. He currently serves as Medical Director of Optum. He is the past Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Baltimore Washington Medical Center (2004-2014), and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also attended medical school. He trained at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic. He completed an NIMH-funded clinical research fellowship in schizophrenia at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center.
