Overview
This 6-hour course expands on the content discussed within The ASAM Criteria 4th Edition Foundations course. This interactive course will follow multiple case scenarios along the patient’s journey through the continuum of care. It will provide an in-depth understanding of providing level of care recommendations, developing individualized treatment plans, and conducting reassessments for continued service or transition of care for patients with addiction and co-occurring conditions. Additionally, participants will examine implementation challenges and develop strategies to provide appropriate treatment for persons with substance use disorders (SUDs). It is recommended that attendees successfully complete the Foundations course before beginning this course.
The target audience for this comprehensive course includes: counselors, social workers, payers, administrators, and other clinical staff. This course addresses the following ACGME Competencies: Patient Care and Procedural Skills, Medical Knowledge, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement, and Systems-Based Practice.
Learning Objectives
Conduct an ASAM Criteria Level of Care Assessment by evaluating risk across the dimensions, utilizing the Dimensional Admission Criteria to make the level of care recommendations and identify Dimensional Drivers.
Develop an individualized treatment plan for persons with substance use disorders (SUD) using an ASAM Criteria Treatment Planning Assessment.
Conduct a Reassessment and Treatment Plan Review and utilize continued service and transition criteria to make evidence-based decisions regarding transitions in level of care.

All ASAM e-Learning Center refund requests must be made in writing to Education@ASAM.org within 90 days of purchase. Those requesting refunds for courses that are in progress will receive partial refunds or e-Learning Center credit.
Automatic full refunds will be made for any course with a live-course component that has been cancelled.

Learners are strongly encouraged to have their cameras on and actively participate in the course.
