Overview

This on-demand ASAM CONTINUUM course for Michigan providers is designed to be a refresher for providers who completed the 8-hour CONTINUUM training as well as an introduction to the use of the CONTINUUM tool for providers who are new to the tool.

The target audience for this introductory level activity includes: counselors, social workers, administrators, and other clinical staff.

This activity addresses the following ACGME Competencies: Patient Care and Procedural Skills, Medical Knowledge, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement, Systems-Based Practice.

Refunds & Cancellations

All ASAM e-Learning Center refund requests must be made in writing to Education@ASAM.org within 90 days of purchase. Those requesting refunds for courses that are in progress will receive partial refunds or e-Learning Center credit. Automatic full refunds will be made for any course with a live-course component that has been cancelled.

Michelle Niculescu

LPC

Michelle has been working in the field of addiction for over 20 years, Michelle dedicates her career to taking a translational approach to addiction medicine. Her work spans from the molecular underpinnings of addiction to behavioral interventions. 

Her endeavors include basic science laboratories, clinical psychology, higher education, and counseling. She currently works as a Clinical Algorithm Scientist for ASAM.  

Michelle earned her doctorate in pharmacology from Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and her MA in clinical mental health counseling from University of the Cumberlands. She is a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania. She resides in Pittsburgh with her 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 1 husband. She enjoys running and yoga.

Christine R. Mulford

RN, MSN, FNP-BC

Ms. Mulford is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who brings more than two decades of clinical practice and leadership to the field of addiction medicine. She has practiced at all levels of outpatient care, including telemedicine. Additionally, she has directed an inpatient medically managed withdrawal management program. Her special interests are meeting the unique treatment needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and reducing stigma for all individuals with substance use disorders.

Ms. Mulford earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has served as a guest lecturer for Arizona State University Project Echo. At ASAM, she holds positions on The ASAM Criteria Education Planning Committee as well as the ASAM CONTINUUM sub-committee. She has been an ASAM Faculty member since 2019.
