Overview
This 2-hour, live virtual session is part of the FAME 8-session series and will cover drug use in pregnancy.
The FAME series is a facilitated, in-depth discussion of real patient cases provided by participants with the opportunity to receive mentoring and feedback from multi-disciplinary addiction expert faculty. The series is designed for members of the healthcare team who are new to treating patients with addiction so they can gain additional insights, knowledge, and confidence.
This two-hour virtual FAME session includes:
- One 20-to-30-minute didactic presentation on a featured addiction-related topic
- Two 30-minute case reviews with a panel of multi-disciplinary addiction experts
- Up to (2) CME/CE credits per session
The target audience for this introductory level activity includes: physicians, PAs, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, psychologists, counselors, addiction educators, and other clinicians part of the care team.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion, learners will be able to:
- Describe effect of substance use disorder on pregnancy and evidence-based treatment strategies for pregnant patients and newborns.
- Understand the effective of alcohol and illicit drugs on pregnancy.
- Discuss the rationale behind use of medication treatment for opioid use disorder during pregnancy.
- Realize the importance of postpartum period.

- Click Complete Post Test to answer multiple choice questions. Participants will have 10 attempts to pass and must answer 5 of question out of 6 questions correctly.
- Click Complete GPRA Evaluation and select button be directed to the external GPRA evaluation. Once completed, you must click on the link at the top of the GPRA evaluation to be redirected back to this educational product to complete the attestation, CME evaluation, claim credit and download your certificate.
- Click Complete Acknowledgement to attest to completing the GPRA evaluation.
- Click Complete Evaluation to provide valuable activity feedback. Scroll down on all questions as there may be answer options that expand past the size of the window.
- Click Complete Presenter Evaluation to provide valuable activity feedback.
- Click the button Claim Medical Credits in the box titled Claim Credits & Certificate. Choose the type of credit and click submit. Click the button View/Print Certificate to save or print your certificate. You can view/print your certificate at any time by visiting the ASAM eLearning Center, clicking Dashboard, and clicking Transcript/Achievements.

Angela L. Colistra
PhD, LPC, CAADC, CCS
Angela Colistra, PhD, LPC, CAADC, CCS is the director of behavioral sciences in family medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is a trained professional counselor, certified addiction counselor and clinical supervisor. As the Director of Behavioral Sciences for the Department of Family Medicine, she trains family medicine residents and faculty, works as an integrated behavioral health specialist at an FQHC lookalike, and oversees addiction and behavioral health integration for a Pennsylvania Coordinated Medicated Assisted Treatment (PacMAT) in primary care grant received from Governor Wolf of Pennsylvania. Dr. Colistra is a faculty and committee member for the ASAM Fundamentals of Addiction Medicine (FAME). Her work has been sought out to train interdisciplinary providers nationally and internationally on topics to include addiction and behavioral integration.

Shanna Diaz, DO
Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in Sleep Medicine, University of New Mexico
Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and sleep medicine. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in Sleep Medicine at UNM and provides locums coverage for psychiatry through UNM Medical Group.

Abby Letcher
MD, FASAM
Abby Letcher MD, FASAM is a Family Physician and Addiction Medicine Specialist in Allentown, PA. As an advocate for community responsive health systems, she was the founding Medical Director of the area's first Federally Qualified Health Center, developed integrated behavioral health and the first primary care program for medications for opioid use disorder, and community oriented Project ECHO for OUD. She partners with local community based organizations to promote Radical Welcome in healthcare, health equity and participatory system change.

Leslie Hayes, MD
Family Physician
El Centro Family Health
Dr. Leslie Hayes, MD, works for El Centro Family Health in Espanola, NM. She is board-certified in both addiction and family medicine. While Dr. Hayes enjoys all aspects of family medicine, her particular passion is taking care of people with opioid use disorder. She especially enjoys working with pregnant women and new mothers who have had drug problems and works hard to make sure that they and their babies receive compassionate and appropriate medical care. She got much of her training in substance use disorders through Project ECHO and now considers herself extremely fortunate to have been able to give back to Project ECHO, and she now provides training for other providers around the state of New Mexico and nationally in substance use disorder and use of buprenorphine. She recently started an ECHO in her own organization with the goal of getting 90% of providers trained to prescribe buprenorphine and provide compassionate, evidence-based care for Substance Use Disorder. She was named a White House Champion of Change in April of 2016 for her work with substance use disorder and pregnancy. Her work was also featured in The Providers, an award-winning documentary about rural health care.
