Overview

This 1-hour, live webinar is a paneled Q&A designed to help participants understand the standards and ratable elements that are required for CARF survey. Participants should bring their specific questions regarding Levels 3.1, 3.5, 3.7, and learn how programs demonstrate compliance with ASAM Criteria standards.

This webinar is recommended for those who have already completed or begun the ASAM Level of Care Certification Training Moduleswhich are designed to guide attendees through the standards and rating elements, and describe the path to achieving certification in their organizations, with guidance on avoiding common pitfalls.

ASAM Level of Care Certification is the first and only program of its kind to independently assess and verify the ability of treatment programs to deliver services consistent with the Levels of Care described in The ASAM Criteria. The target audience for this introductory live webinar includes program directors, managers, clinicians, and other program staff who are working on implementing the ASAM Criteria principles and standards to support efforts to obtain the ASAM Level of Care Certification for their program. 

This live webinar addresses the following ACGME Competencies: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, and Systems Based Practice.

  1. Identify the standards and rating elements needed for the levels of care you are seeking
  2. Define how your organization addresses service characteristics as it relates to the level of care you are seeking
  3. Describe how the Level of Care requirements are reflected in your organization’s procedures and documentation

Refunds & Cancellations

All ASAM e-Learning Center refund requests must be made in writing to Education@ASAM.org within 90 days of purchase. Those requesting refunds for courses that are in progress will receive partial refunds or e-Learning Center credit. Automatic full refunds will be made for any course with a live-course component that has been cancelled.

Jason Kirby

DO, MBA, FASAM

Dr. Jason Kirby, DO, MBA, FASAM is a board-certified Addiction Medicine specialist and is currently Chief Medical Officer of Landmark Recovery, a national drug and alcohol residential treatment organization based in Franklin, TN. He is certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He has treated thousands of patients in his career struggling from a variety of substance use disorders and practices full time Addiction Medicine for Landmark Recovery. Dr. Kirby is the clinical leader for the organization and is responsible for the development of Landmark's policies and procedures governing evidence based and harm reduction practices as well as liaison for all regulatory matters. 

He also serves in leadership in the American Society of Addiction Medicine as member of the Finance and Level of Care Committees, faculty for ASAM's Opioid Treatment Course, and was granted Fellow status in May 2020. Recently, he was nominated as President - Elect of the Tennessee Chapter of ASAM. Dr. Kirby has spoken at a variety of conferences and given lectures and grand rounds focusing on diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of substance use disorders and other process addictions in special populations. 

Dr. Kirby has a deep personal passion for helping patients who use substances to regain functionality in their lives and enter programs of recovery.

Alma Ramic

MD, FASAM

Dr. Ramic is currently serving as Medical Director of Addiction Services and Opiate Treatment Program at the Hines VA Hospital, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Loyola University Medical School and the Director of Addiction Medicine Fellowship. She works on a daily basis with veterans who suffer from complex medical and mental health disorders, including addiction. Dr. Ramic works in Opioid Treatment Programs (methadone clinics), and oversees the Addiction Treatment and Residential programs, where they all work closely with the Veterans Justice Outreach program.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
