Building the Addiction Medicine Physician Workforce: All Hands on Deck
Product not yet rated Contains 4 Component(s), Includes CreditsComponent Credit Type State/Medical Type Available Credits Earned Credits CME Credit and Certificate Medical Physician - On Demand 1.50 0.00 CME Credit and Certificate Medical Non-Physician - On Demand 1.50 0.00 The opioid crisis has brought attention to the need for comprehensive training and credentialing of physicians in the field of Addiction Medicine (ADM). Organized medicine, medical educators and health systems are increasing their interest and attention to preventing and treating the primary disease of addiction, as opposed to historical attention focused solely on medical consequences. With the recent recognition of ADM as an ABMS level subspecialty and the establishment of the first wave of ACGME accredited ADM fellowships, physicians now have two paths to secure certification in the field: the Practice Pathway and the ADM Fellowship Pathway.
